Index alignment

ⓘ 30-min VWAP rules

The 30-min VWAP restarts every 30 minutes, anchored to 6:00 PM ET (6:00–6:30, 6:30–7:00, …). This box uses the final VWAP of the last completed period, the same level the VWAP 30 strategy trades off, so it only changes on the half hour. Strong long: 30-min VWAP above both RTH VWAP (from 9:30) and ETH VWAP (from 6:00 PM). Longs only: above RTH VWAP but not ETH. Shorts only: below RTH VWAP but not ETH. Strong short: below both. Before 9:30 there is no RTH VWAP yet, so it compares against ETH VWAP only.

Touch Zones

ZoneLevels insideStrengthDistance
ⓘ How Touch Zones work

Every zone is 1% of the index's 28-day ATR wide, rounded to a clean number (an NQ ATR of 476 rounds to 500, giving 5-point zones). Levels closer together than the spacing setting (5% of ATR on Normal, 25 points on NQ) are combined into one zone, centered where the levels are most concentrated: stronger levels pull the center toward them. Lone weak levels are hidden, and only the 5 nearest zones above and below are listed. Stars show how much is stacked in a zone. A ✓ means price already tested that level today and it held (counts more); ✕ means price broke through it today (counts less). Red zones are above price (resistance), green are below (support), amber means price is inside the zone.

Labels: CW / PW / ZG = call wall, put wall, zero gamma (0DTE = today-only). PDH / PDL = prior day high/low; SETTLE = prior settlement. pPOC / pVAH / pVAL = prior day point of control and value area. WkH / WkL, wPOC / wVAH / wVAL = current week; wVWAP = weekly VWAP. PWH / PWL / pwPOC = prior week. PMH / PML = prior month high/low; mVWAP = monthly VWAP. ONH / ONL = overnight high/low. OPEN = 9:30 open; IBH / IBL = initial balance (9:30–10:30). VWAP = today's VWAP. nPOC = naked POC (a prior day's POC price hasn't revisited). HVN / LVN = high- and low-volume nodes from the last 20 sessions. RND = round number (only counts next to another level).

Move by session
ⓘ How session moves work

"Typical" is the median high-to-low range of each session on the same weekday over the last 12 weeks, just under a quarter, so a quarterly report counts at most once while monthly reports (jobs, CPI, PPI, retail sales) land about three times. "Last month" is the median of the last 4 of those sessions. The bar fills as today's session range grows: amber until it reaches the typical range, then green with a ✓; underneath is today's range so far and how many points are left to reach typical (or how far short it ended). "Net" is how far price moved from the start to the end of the session. After the 5:00 PM close it shows the typical ranges for the next session's weekday.

ⓘ How typical swings work

For each half hour of the session (6:00 PM to 5:00 PM ET), this measures the range from high to low on the same weekday over the last 12 weeks, about 12 sessions. "Typical" is the median, so one unusual day doesn't distort it; "last month" is the median of the last 4 of those sessions, and "biggest" is the largest range seen. Twelve weeks is just under a quarter, so a quarterly report counts at most once, and it still covers every monthly report about three times on its usual weekday: the jobs report on the first Friday, CPI, PPI and retail sales mid-month, and FOMC decisions every 6–7 weeks. Ranges are in index-futures points and as a share of the 28-day ATR. Today's ranges appear as the day goes on, with how they compare to typical.

Key levels & gap

ⓘ How to read this

Prior day high and low come from the prior regular session (9:30 AM – 4:00 PM). Overnight high and low run from 6:00 PM to 9:30 AM. Gap size is also shown as a share of the index's typical daily range: smaller gaps fill more often than larger ones, and a gap that opens outside the prior day's range is more likely to keep going.

ⓘ How to read this

How to read it: the call wall is the strike with the most call gamma above price and often acts as resistance. The put wall is the strike with the most put gamma below price and often acts as support. Zero gamma is where dealers flip from dampening moves (buying dips, selling rips) to chasing them. Above zero gamma, markets tend to be calmer; below it, moves tend to get faster. Live levels will come from delayed options chains (about 15 minutes behind) converted to futures prices. This assumes typical dealer positioning and is not investment advice.

ⓘ How to read this

How it works: each read scores five factors from −100 (bearish) to +100 (bullish) and blends them by weight. Every factor is scaled to the index's typical daily range, so a point means the same thing for RTY as for YM. Pre-market: location (gap vs. settle and overnight VWAP, 30), action (last-hour momentum and EMA 9/21 trend, 25), alignment of all four indexes vs. the prior close (20), position vs. the prior day's range (15) and VIX (10). Live: location (vs. the 9:30 open and today's VWAP, 25), opening-range breakout (20), action (20), alignment vs. the open (25) and VIX (10). The Style column uses the gamma regime: positive gamma favors fading moves, negative gamma favors following them. This is a rules-based technical read, not a prediction or investment advice. For VIX, "bearish" means fear is easing.

ⓘ How to read this

A read counts as a call when it is Lean bullish/bearish or stronger; Neutral reads are left out of the hit rate. "Right" means the index moved in the called direction from the 9:30 open. Above 55% over a few months suggests a real edge; around 50% is a coin flip. These demo days are simulated to show how the scorecard works. Real tracking starts when live data is connected, and the history will then be saved so it builds up day by day.
